Step one: the walk-around
We come out and look at each wall up close. We test how hard the mortar is. You get a price in writing. It lists each wall and joint area. No vague lines.
Step two: old joints come out
The crew grinds worn mortar out to a good depth. This is the loud, dusty part. We mask glass and doors. We guard plants. We sweep up each day. It can be noisy. Plan naps around it.
Step three: new joints go in
Fresh mortar is pressed in layer by layer. It is mixed to match your brick. Then each joint is shaped by hand. This is slow, skilled work. It sets how the wall looks for years.
Step four: wash and walk-through
The wall gets a soft wash to lift haze. Then we walk the job with you. New joints look dark at first. They fade as they dry over the next weeks. That is normal.
How long it takes
A lone chimney runs a day or two. A full house can run one to three weeks. Size and wear set the pace. We put the plan in writing before we start.
